Our Professional Services
Project Management
KWD has extensive project management experience with well construction & mechanical completion projects (private and commercial wells) and for property development projects involving new water supply provisions in combination with new onsite sewerage system, and /or environmental assessments / erosion and sediment control planning.
Ineke Kalwij (KWD’s principle hydrogeologist & engineer) has completed formal training in project management (University of British Columbia)
Our Professional Services
Aquifer Protection & Groundwater Monitoring
KWD offers expertise in well & aquifer protection: aquifer characterization, well capture zone analysis, completing reviews of potential contaminants, and developing well & aquifer protection strategies.
KWD develops for clients customized groundwater monitoring and well system assessment programs. KWD is skilled in effectively processing and analyzing SCADA data for meaningful interpretations and diagnostics.
Ineke Kalwij has been using SCADA for advanced groundwater monitoring analysis and assessments for 10+ years
About us
KWD is owned by Ineke Kalwij, Ph.D., P.Eng., Principal Hydrogeologist & Engineer, licensed with Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC). She has 22+ years of professional experience in the field of hydrogeology, groundwater engineering, and water management (groundwater, surface water, irrigation, drainage) through working in Canada, United States, and with the International Water Management Institute in Lahore, Pakistan.
She is a board member of The Groundwater Project, a Canadian non-profit organization which has as mission promoting groundwater learning (https://gw-project.org/).
We research and evaluate each project to find the most appropriate and sustainable solutions to projects while maintaining recognized standards. We collaborate with qualified consulting and contracting firms for meeting project requirements.

About us
Our Mission
Kalwij Water Dynamics is committed to ensuring that our clients have safe and reliable access to water resources (groundwater and surface water), and that water resources are managed sustainably.
We are also committed to awareness building and education of youth, communities, and professionals through information sharing and courses.
Courses
Hydrogeology and Groundwater Management
We offer several courses in hydrogeology and groundwater management. The courses are tailored towards professionals who wish to have a better understanding of hydrogeological and groundwater management & related engineering concepts. We offer some of the courses through Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC) and BC Water & Waste Association (BCWWA). We also offer courses directly to municipalities and private groups (on demand).
Upcoming Course Offering:
(Engineers & Geoscientists BC)
News & Announcements
46th IAH Congress in Malaga, Spain
Ineke Kalwij of KWD will give a presentation at the upcoming IAH Congress in Malaga, Spain (September 22-27, 2019). She will talk about Managing Groundwater Resources: Case Studies from British Columbia, Canada.
Groundwater is an essential resource for many rural communities and municipal water systems in British Columbia. In British Columbia, after the Water Sustainability Act (WSA) came into effect (February 29, 2016), the need and requirement of (better) groundwater management has increased not only from a water allocation point of view but also from a water system planning point of view to ensure that future water demand can be met with the available water resource. Ineke will talk about the hydrogeology of the lower mainland, BC Aquifer Mapping System, and the use of SCADA, an integral tool for groundwater monitoring (long term trending, aquifer recharge / discharge trend, changes in well performance, and interpretation of well interference).
Groundwater & Climate Change
The International Association of Hydrogeologist (AIH) has launched another paper in their Strategic Overview Series: CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND GROUNDWATER. This paper and other papers are available at:
